Startup and product launch campaigns on X
A launch has one big advantage: a date. This page shows how to use it, with a plan that fits a small team and an honest view of what to expect.
Three phases of a launch
Before
Teasers, a waitlist and a hashtag people can learn.
Launch day
Founders, team and early users post within a short window.
After
Replies, thank-yous and a recap with real numbers.
Who should post
- Founders and the team, in their own voice.
- Early users and partners who agree to post.
- Relevant creators and communities, with paid posts disclosed.
What to measure
Choose two or three metrics before launch, such as sign-ups from X, replies from target users and the number of unique accounts using the hashtag. Raw impressions alone say little about business value.
Mistakes to avoid
- Starting only on launch day with no audience.
- Posting identical text from many accounts.
- Promising to trend. Aim to be useful and visible instead.
